Options in Life run a social inclusion and skills development programme for isolated young people with learning disabilities in Fife. The project gives participants the chance to gain accredited qualifications and workplace experience. The participants learn hospitality, cooking and monetary skills.

Their aim is to help vulnerable and isolated young people to develop life and social skills, make friends, become more independent and have a better quality of life. Through their recreation programme participants will gain the skills and experience to enter paid employment. The organisation provides transitional support to ensure that their participants step into a workforce that is managed appropriately and that can accommodate their additional needs.

There are now more than 80 young adults with complex support requirements in Fife who are accessing their services.

Options in Life’s have started a partnership with the Murton Trust at Murton Farm, Forfar which has flourished and has given their groups opportunities to take part in a diverse selection of activities such as “running the farm for a day”, building a causeway to an island, planning and clearing an area for a safe leisure area for children, bushcraft, outdoor cooking, woodwork, bird watching, tree planting and preparing a meal together in the tearoom.
