RDA Glasgow have been providing equine therapy to young people with disabilities for over 50 years.

School pupils attend one-hour class session throughout the school year.

The riders live with additional support needs such as Cerebral Palsy, Global Development Delay, Down Syndrome, sensory impairments and Autism.

The sessions are unique in combining all the benefits of participation in sport, learning new skills, building healthy relationships and experiencing nature. For people with physical disabilities, the movement of the horse acts as a form of physiotherapy and works their muscles without any strain on their part.

They have recently acquired a new pony, Rosie who is now able to participate in equine therapy.
