Scottish Disability Sport

Trefoil and Scottish Disability Sport (SDS) have worked in partnership since 2018. In March 2021 Trefoil awarded SDS’s member branches in Perth and Kinross and Ayrshire grants totalling £11,000. The grants are to help the SDS branches host a range of inclusive sports day events across 2021 for all ages and abilities in the sports of Athletics, Boccia, Swimming, Lawn Bowls and Badminton and also to introduce new competitive opportunities with Archery and Indoor Bowls events for children and young people with disabilities.

Since 2018, 10 SDS branches have been supported by Trefoil with total grants exceeding £50,000. The money has gone towards on-the-ground delivery of events, sessions and positive experiences for young people with a disability from the Borders and Dumfries & Galloway in the south all the way through to the Highlands in the north.

Trefoil are delighted to be continuing this successful partnership and hearing of how SDS are helping young people to better lives.
