A family holiday to Centre Parcs

In September 2022, Trefoil awarded SC a grant of £500 from the Lilias Finlay Holiday Fund. This grant enabled SC and his family to book a holiday to Centre Parcs in the Autumn of last year.

SC has a diagnosis of Autism and developmental delay and requires 1-1 support. Access to the woodlands and swimming pools that met SC’s sensory needs and did not cause over stimulation was fantastic for SC to enjoy playing and being with his mum, gran and brother in a fun but calm environment.

It was great to have time outdoors and time for the boys to play.

SC has learned to ride a bike and the family hired bikes to explore the woodland tracks together and allowed SC to enjoy nature and go on adventures. The grant awarded by Trefoil not only benefitted SC and developed his confidence, but it also offered the whole family a chance to have a respite break from every day life.

The highlight of the trip for SC was plenty time spent in the swimming pool with his brother and going on all the rides which was a delight for their mum to share these experiences with her sons as well as watch the siblings bond as they participated in a variety of activities on offer at Centre Parcs.

The entire trip was amazing, we were in heaven.

Trefoil are delighted to have been able to provide SC and his family the opportunity to go on holiday to relax and spend time together.
