Pilot Partnership Project
Following a successful pilot year partnership with Glasgow Children’s Holiday Scheme (GCHS) in 2022 Trefoil are pleased to continue collaborating with GCHS for another year to support the provision of holidays for children, young people, and their families across the Greater Glasgow area.
GCHS is described as the wee charity with a big heart facilitating over 500 children and young people and over 200 families to get a break each year. GCHS offer families a chance to get away, do different things and most importantly make memories.
In 2022, thanks to the support of Trefoil, GCHS delivered a holiday for 27 families in the adapted caravan, comprising 61 adults and 49 children catering for a wide variety of needs and additional support requirements.
As this partnership continues, in December 2022, Trefoil awarded Glasgow Children Holiday Scheme £4,000 towards the running cost of their adapted caravan for persons with disabilities and to purchase sensory toys, books and games for holiday goers to enjoy during their break away.
So far in 2023, 5 families (9 adults and 11 children) have been hosted at their adapted caravan in Wemyss Bay Holiday Park and a further 14 families are already pre-booked into the adapted caravan for the summer months.
The trustees of Trefoil consider it a privilege to contribute towards the fantastic work of GCHS and are delighted to continue building on this collaboration to support children and young people to enjoy a holiday.
