Caoimhe's Portable Hoist
In May 2023, Trefoil awarded Caoimhe a personal development grant amounting to £2,500 to purchase a portable hoist.
The purpose of the hoist was to increase the activities accessible to Caoimhe and allow her to spend more time with family and friends.
Prior to the award, due to the lack of hoisting facilities, Caoimhe was missing out at family events and spending time with her friends outside of school and her own home.
Caoimhe is delighted with her new hoist as she is now able to enjoy family time and goes for sleep overs at her Gran’s house which is one of her favourite things to do.
“It is lovely to be able to have the whole family together now and for Caoimhe to spend quality time with her cousins. I can now have Caoimhe overnight, something we both enjoy! We are very grateful to trefoil for the portable hoist.”
Additionally, now that Caoimhe has a suitable portable hoist to meet her needs when on the go her family can plan for adventures to do together and have a break away to make memories.
Caoimhe loves Disney and her portable hoist will be travelling with her and her family to Disneyland later this year where she will be able to speak to the Disney characters around the park. A brilliant encouragement for her confidence to continue to grow as she delves into the world of Disney!
