The Junior Digital Orchestra

Thanks to Trefoil support, the Drake Music Scotland's Junior Digital Orchestra began rehearsals in January 2017, in response to demand from teenagers who had watched their Senior Digital Orchestra for musicians aged 18-29 and wanted to be part of an orchestra too.

This short video gives a taster of some of the inclusive music technologies the teenagers play - including Eyegaze software which allows musicians to play music apps with their eye movements and Wowee speakers which vibrate and help hearing impaired musicians to "hear" themselves play.

As well as providing opportunities for disabled teenagers to develop their music skills and increase confidence from taking part in public performance, this project aims at encouraging members to progress on to the Senior Digital Orchestra in the future.
