Celebrating Eight Years of Impact: Our Journey to £1,000,000
Trefoil Trust is thrilled to celebrate a significant milestone; awarding £1,000,000 in grants over the past eight years! This achievement reflects our unwavering commitment to assisting young people with additional support needs.
Trefoil’s mission is to support the development of children and young people with additional needs in Scotland, to enable them to maximise their capabilities and achieve as much independence as possible.
We believe every child in Scotland should be supported for a life well lived. Though often left behind, young people with additional support needs have equal rights to a happy childhood; our Trust aims to fill that gap by offering grants to enable young people and their families. By providing grants to small charities, community groups, and individuals, we aim to reach as many young people as possible.

Our Stories
Over the years, we have been inspired by a number of stories of transformation made possible through our grants:
In 2018, we funded Lothian Autistic Society, who runs a Saturday Adventure Programme for children ages 5 to 18 with autism. This group designs fun and engaging activities which help the 43 participants develop important life skills.
This year, we supported Articulate Cultural Trust, contributing to the ‘Refresh Project’: long-term well-being project offering communal self-care experiences via therapeutic and educational workshops held bi-weekly for individuals aged 15 to 25. This projected helps young people address mental wellbeing through creative outlets.
In 2022, we gave Naeema, a 14 year old with Cerebral Palsy funding for a specialised trike so she can ride to school with her friends and increase her sense of independence. Personal Development Grants like these are vital to our work and offer recipients the opportunity to participate in essential childhood activities.
